Custom Trophy Malaysia — Bespoke CNC, Cast Metal, Etched Crystal and Pewter Commissions

A custom trophy only makes sense when the standard cup does not fit the story. Six weeks to a dealer-of-the-year ceremony, a founder anniversary, or a signature tournament is enough time for the right custom route if the brief is clear. Here are the four routes (CNC acrylic, custom-mould die-cast, etched crystal, pewter commission) and which one fits your brief, timeline, and budget.

Brand-style illustration of custom trophy malaysia arranged across acrylic, wooden, and crystal formats.

Custom trophy is the brief that lands when off-the-shelf doesn't fit the story — a corporate dealer recognition that needs the company silhouette CNC'd into 10mm acrylic, an esports tournament chasing a piece players actually want to mantel-display next to their setup, a signature gala award for a one-off Datuk Seri recipient, a founder anniversary that deserves a sculpture and not a generic fluted cup.

We cover four bespoke routes from our Brem Park office and showroom in Kuchai Lama, KL. CNC-cut acrylic shapes (RM 150-700) for fast custom turnaround in 10-14 working days, no mould setup. Custom-mould die-cast metal medals and trophies (RM 12-80 per piece at 100+ units, plus RM 1,500-3,500 one-off mould setup) when the shape needs to repeat year-on-year across multi-year tournaments. Deeply-etched crystal with custom artwork (RM 350-1,200). Pewter commissions with custom motifs (batik, hibiscus, company crest, RM 600-1,800). Mixed-material signature pieces (crystal-on-pewter, metal-on-wood, RM 900-2,500+).

Free in-house design and vectorisation on every brief — no separate 'design fee' line. Lead times from 5-7 working days for stock variants with custom engraving to 2-6 weeks for full custom mould. SST included. Every quote runs on WhatsApp; the courier rate (RM 12-80) is the only extra.

Four routes to custom — picking the right one is half the project

Custom trophy means different things to different briefs. Picking the right production route is most of the project.

Route 1: CNC-cut acrylic shapes (RM 150-700, 10-14 working days, no mould setup)

Send us a vector silhouette — company logo, sport icon, Malaysian state shape, esports controller motif. We CNC-cut from clear, frosted, or coloured acrylic (10mm or 15mm thick), mount on a wooden or acrylic base, laser-engrave the citation into the front face.

Best for one-off corporate dealer awards, esports tournaments, and regional recognition where each branch gets a different state silhouette.

Route 2: Custom-mould die-cast metal (RM 1,500-3,500 mould setup, RM 12-80 per unit at 100+, 4-6 weeks first run, 2-3 weeks repeat)

Best when the design needs to repeat year on year:

  • Perpetual MSSM cups
  • Recurring medal series
  • Annual corporate long-service medals

The mould amortises around 200 units. At 1,000 units it adds RM 1.50-3.50 per piece against a base cost of RM 12-25.

Route 3: Deeply-etched custom crystal (RM 350-1,200, 10-14 working days)

Artwork sandblasted into solid optical crystal at 5-10mm depth. Best for board-level recognition, founder anniversaries, and gala signature awards that have to read under spotlights.

Route 4: Pewter or mixed-material commission (RM 600-2,500+, 4-6 weeks)

Hand-finished pewter pieces with custom motifs (batik, hibiscus, company crest), or crystal-on-pewter, metal-on-wood signature centrepieces.

Best when the recipient is genuinely once-in-a-decade — a retiring founder, a Datuk Seri appointment, a 50-year firm anniversary.

CNC-cut acrylic shapes — fastest route to custom

CNC-cut acrylic is the route most clients underestimate. Honestly the fastest path to a genuinely custom trophy.

Economics:

  • RM 150-700 per piece (size and complexity)
  • 10-14 working days from artwork sign-off
  • No mould setup fee

Workflow:

  1. Send a vector silhouette (SVG, AI, EPS or high-res PDF)
  2. We tweak for cut-feasibility — thin cantilevered limbs need thickening; detail under 2mm gets simplified
  3. Confirm dimensions
  4. Mount on a black wooden or clear acrylic base
  5. Laser-engrave the citation onto the front face

Best applications:

  • Corporate dealer recognition where each region gets a different state silhouette
  • Esports tournaments with a controller, headset, or game-specific motif
  • Tournament cups where a generic-cup shape is too boring
  • Founder anniversaries where the company logo deserves to be the trophy itself

Material options:

  • Frosted acrylic reads premium under spotlights
  • Coloured acrylic (red, blue, gold-mirror) adds another dimension at no extra cost

Custom-mould die-cast economics (when 100+ units make sense)

Custom-mould die-cast metal is the right call when you need a piece that repeats — annually, across regions, or year-on-year over a tournament's life.

Economics:

  • Mould setup: RM 1,500-3,500 one-off (medals at the low end, full trophies at the top)
  • Per-unit production: RM 12-80 (size, finishing — gold, silver, bronze, antique brass — and ribbon)
  • Viable from about 100 lifetime units, usually pays back around 200, clearly efficient at 1,000+

Worked example. A 5-year tournament producing 200 medals a year — 1,000 units total. A RM 2,500 mould adds RM 2.50 per unit. That is small beside the RM 25-40 base medal cost, and repeat runs skip the setup fee.

Lead times:

  • First run: 4-6 weeks (mould fabrication takes the time)
  • Subsequent runs years 2-5: 2-3 weeks

Best applications:

  • Multi-year MSSM perpetual cups
  • Annual corporate long-service medals (year-5, year-10 tier pins)
  • Recurring industry awards (real estate top-agent, insurance industry-wide recognition)
  • University convocation medals on a permanent design

Setup fee is explained upfront. No surprise charges.

Free in-house design and vectorisation — what it actually covers

Every custom brief includes free in-house design and vectorisation. No separate 'design fee' line. No charge for revisions within reason.

What 'free design' actually covers:

  1. Logo vectorisation — if you only have a JPG or PNG dragged off your website at 72dpi, we trace it cleanly to SVG, usually within hours
  2. 2-4 concept sketches based on your brief — same day for simple briefs (single piece, clear logo, standard format)
  3. 2-3 rounds of digital proof revisions based on your feedback
  4. Cut-feasibility review for CNC acrylic — thickening thin limbs that would snap, simplifying sub-2mm details that won't survive 10mm acrylic cutting
  5. Mould-feasibility review for die-cast — drafting undercuts at 1.5-degree slopes, making sure ejector pin placement doesn't show on the front face
  6. Bilingual layout for BM, English, Mandarin (Simplified or Traditional), Tamil, or Jawi citations

The only paid extra is custom mould setup itself (RM 1,500-3,500 one-off). We pay the partner workshop for tool fabrication — a real out-of-pocket cost.

Everything else — vectorisation, sketches, digital proofs, layout, font selection — is included.

That's how we keep custom briefs flowing without nickel-and-diming clients on every revision. Probably why most of our custom work comes back year after year.

How to brief us for a custom trophy

Custom briefs vary wildly in clarity. Cleaner brief, faster proof. Send six things:

  1. The application — corporate dealer award, esports tournament, gala signature recognition, founder anniversary? Helps us recommend the right route.
  2. The volume — single piece, 5-20 pieces, 100+? Volume drives whether CNC or custom mould wins on cost.
  3. Reference images — photos, sketches, mood-board pieces, anything you've seen and liked. We don't copy other suppliers' designs, but reference imagery clarifies aesthetic direction fast.
  4. Logo or motif — vector preferred (SVG, AI, EPS), JPG/PNG works (we vectorise free).
  5. Dimensions and colour preferences if you have them; otherwise we recommend.
  6. Deadline — be honest about the ceremony date so we can scope the route honestly.

Lead time check:

  • CNC acrylic and etched crystal: 10-14 days
  • Custom mould first run: 4-6 weeks (no shortcut)

When to choose this format

  • CNC-cut acrylic shapes win for one-off corporate awards, esports tournaments, and dealer recognition where each region gets a different silhouette — fast (10-14 days), no mould setup, RM 150-700.
  • Custom-mould die-cast metal wins for multi-year tournaments, perpetual cups, and annual long-service medals where the design repeats — amortises at 200+ units (4-6 weeks first run, 2-3 weeks repeat).
  • Deeply-etched crystal wins for board-level recognition, founder anniversaries, and gala signature awards where presence under spotlights matters most (RM 350-1,200, 10-14 days).
  • Pewter commissions with custom motifs (batik, hibiscus, company crest) win for genuinely once-in-a-decade signature pieces — distinctively Malaysian, premium feel (RM 600-1,800).
  • Mixed-material signature pieces win for the most premium briefs — crystal-on-pewter, metal-on-wood centerpieces for retiring CEOs and founder commemorations (RM 900-2,500+).
  • Stock variants with custom engraving win when the brief is "make this look custom but on a tight timeline" — 5-7 days, no mould or CNC setup, the practical fallback at 4 weeks out.

Common occasions

  • Corporate dealer-of-the-year and regional-recognition awards
  • Esports tournament champion trophies and signature event pieces
  • MSSM perpetual cup designs for multi-year tournaments
  • Family-business founder anniversary and matriarch tributes
  • Industry signature awards (real estate, insurance, automotive)
  • University convocation medals on permanent custom design
  • Gala one-off recognition pieces for retiring CEOs and chairmen

Custom Trophy Malaysia — frequently asked

  • How much does a custom trophy cost in Malaysia?

Realistic 2026 pricing per piece, SST included: CNC-cut acrylic shapes RM150-700 with no setup fee; custom-mould die-cast metal RM12-80 per unit plus RM1500-3500 one-off mould setup (viable from about 100 lifetime units, usually pays back around 200); deeply-etched crystal RM350-1200; pewter commissions RM600-1800; mixed-material signature pieces RM900-2500+. Free in-house design and vectorisation included. WhatsApp +60 12-213 6631 with the brief and we reply during business hours once the details are clear.

  • How long does a custom trophy take to make?

Lead times vary by route. Stock variants with custom engraving 5-7 working days. CNC-cut acrylic shapes 10-14 working days. Deeply-etched crystal 10-14 working days. Custom-mould die-cast metal 4-6 weeks first run (mould fabrication takes the time); subsequent annual runs drop to 2-3 weeks. Pewter and mixed-material commissions 2-6 weeks. Be honest about your ceremony date when briefing — we will tell you straight if the timeline is tight.

  • Do you charge a design fee for custom trophies?

No — in-house design and vectorisation are free on every custom brief. Free design covers logo vectorisation, 2-4 concept sketches, 2-3 rounds of digital proof revisions, cut-feasibility review for CNC, mould-feasibility review for die-cast, and bilingual layout. The only paid extra is custom mould setup (RM1500-3500 one-off) because we pay the workshop for tool fabrication itself. Everything design-side is included.

  • Can you make a trophy in any custom shape?

Almost any shape is possible across the four routes — CNC-cut acrylic for fast bespoke silhouettes, custom-mould die-cast for repeating designs at volume, etched crystal for premium artwork pieces, and pewter or mixed-material for signature commissions. Constraints: very thin cantilevered acrylic limbs need thickening for cut-feasibility; sub-2mm details may simplify; mould undercuts get drafted for ejector pin clearance. Send us your concept on WhatsApp and we will tell you what is feasible and what needs adjustment.

  • When does custom-mould die-cast make economic sense?

Custom mould becomes viable from about 100 lifetime units, usually pays back around 200, and is clearly efficient at 1000+. A RM2500 mould amortises to RM2.50 per unit at 1000 total pieces, which is small beside the base metal cost. Multi-year tournaments, annual long-service medal programs, and recurring industry award series fit. For one-off pieces under 50 units, CNC acrylic or etched crystal is cheaper and faster.

  • Can you design a trophy if I only have a logo?

Yes — most of our custom briefs start with just a logo and a use case. Send the logo (vector preferred, JPG/PNG works — we vectorise free), tell us the application (corporate dealer award, esports tournament, etc.) and the volume, and our designers draft 2-4 concept sketches within hours during business hours. We iterate on WhatsApp until you sign off a digital proof, then produce. iTrophy is not a factory; design and project management run in-house at our KL studio.

  • Do you supply custom trophies for esports tournaments?

Yes — esports is one of our fastest-growing custom brief areas. Most popular routes: CNC-cut acrylic with controller, headset or game-specific motifs (RM150-700 per piece, 10-14 days); custom-mould die-cast medals for finishers (RM12-80 per unit at 100+ at RM1500-3500 mould setup, 4-6 weeks first run); etched crystal for grand champion pieces (RM350-1200). See our esports trophy design Malaysia 2026 guide for sample briefs.

  • Can you make a perpetual cup that lasts multiple years?

Yes — perpetual cups for MSSM tournaments, corporate sales kickoffs, and university leagues are a regular brief. Construction: a large metal cup or trophy on a multi-tier wooden or marble base, with brass plates around the base for engraving each year's winner. The piece itself is custom-designed (CNC acrylic, custom-mould metal, or etched crystal); the brass plates are added annually as the tournament repeats. Lead time 2-6 weeks for first build; 5-7 working days for annual brass-plate updates. See our MSSM perpetual cup design multi-year blog for the full pattern.

  • How does payment work for custom trophy commissions?

For custom-mould die-cast pieces, mould setup (RM 1,500-3,500) is paid upfront on artwork sign-off — that's what the workshop charges to fabricate the tool. Per-piece production then runs on standard 50% deposit / 50% on shipment terms. For CNC acrylic, etched crystal, and pewter commissions, standard 50/50 split. Repeat clients on existing moulds skip the setup entirely and run on credit Net 30 against PO. Tax-compliant invoices for every order; LO/PO formats supported.

  • Can we own the custom mould after the first run?

The mould stays at the partner workshop for production runs across the lifetime of the program — that's standard practice and how the per-piece economics stay sharp on repeat orders. We keep the mould assigned to your account and on file for as long as you need it. If you genuinely need the physical mould tool transferred to you (e.g. you're switching suppliers or running a sister-brand version overseas), that's a case-by-case conversation — message us and we'll work it out honestly.
