Wooden Trophies

A wooden trophy reads differently from a crystal one. Crystal sparkles and photographs bright on stage. Wood is understated, warm in the hand, and quietly serious — which is exactly why senior Malaysian corporate recognition leans on it.

Where wood is the right call:

• Long-service awards — 10, 15, 20, 25 years
• Retirement tributes and board-director farewells
• Founder and family-business anniversaries
• Leadership-transition and succession gifts
• GLC, government-linked, and bumiputera-sector ceremonies, where traditional hardwood carries the right cultural weight

The timber/heritage feel does the talking. A 25-year retiree doesn't want a block that looks like everyone else's annual-dinner prize. Wood says this person mattered for a long time. That's the read you're paying for, and it's why HR teams reach for it at the top end of a recognition program rather than the monthly tier.

Our wooden trophies are built on solid hardwood bases — mostly rubberwood and dark-stained sengon, both locally sourced and properly kiln-dried so they won't warp in Malaysian humidity.

Rubberwood is the warm light-tan workhorse: even grain, takes lacquer beautifully, sustainably sourced from rubber estates after the trees finish their latex-producing life. Lands around RM100-250.

Dark-stained sengon reads richer and more formal — the deeper tone suits retirement and board-level pieces where you want a serious finish. Similar band depending on size and sculpting.

Every base gets multiple coats of lacquer for depth and tropical-humidity protection, hand-finished by our long-time partner workshops. Slight grain variation between pieces is part of the look — that's real wood doing its job, not printed laminate.

Heritage option: songket-wrapped box trophies (rubberwood frame + woven songket fabric, often with a crystal-glass insert) from RM97-180 for a distinctly local presentation.

This is the one thing to plan around with wood, so let's be straight about it.

Minimum order is 10 pieces (10x MOQ). Unlike crystal or acrylic — where we'll happily do a single piece for one retirement — wooden trophies run through a partner-workshop batch process that only makes sense at quantity. Need wood but only one recipient? Message us on WhatsApp; sometimes we can slot a single piece into a running batch, but it's case-by-case, not a default.

Lead time runs longer too. Standard wood turnaround is 7-10 working days from artwork sign-off, plus roughly one extra week over crystal because the lacquer cure and metal-plate fitting can't be rushed without the finish suffering. Quote yourself 2-3 weeks for a wood ceremony to be safe.

For a fixed event date — a retirement dinner, an anniversary gala — brief us at least 3 weeks ahead.

The nameplate carries the message, and on wood we print rather than engrave directly on the plate — it keeps logos and citations crisp where direct laser on the wood face can scorch or fade over years.

Finish choice is more strategic than it looks:

Free as part of the per-piece price: full-colour logo, recipient name, dates, and citation text printed onto the plate, screwed flush to the wood. Larger plates for longer inscriptions and a secondary back plate for the citation are available on premium orders.

Citation tip: keep it under ~40 words. Anything longer crowds the plate and reads as filler. Send us a draft and we'll tighten it before proofing — unlimited revisions until it's right.

Wooden trophies run from compact desk pieces to tall floor-standing awards.

• Desk pieces (~200-230mm) — RM100-180. Recipient takes it home, sits on a shelf or desk.
• Mid (~245-270mm) — RM175-250. The most-ordered tier for retirement and senior long-service.
• Tall / sculptural (300mm+) — RM250-650. Board-level farewells, founder tributes, the headline piece.
