Wooden Medals

Wooden medals carry a different message than metal or plastic.

The eco angle: real timber reads as natural and sustainable. For a green run, a trail race, or a CSR walk with a sustainability theme, a wooden medal tells the right story before anyone reads the engraving.

The character: slight grain variation between pieces is part of the look — no two are identical, which suits heritage and craft-led events.

The decoration: laser engraving gives a clean burnt-in mark; full-colour UV print lands sponsor logos and event artwork on the face when you need colour.

This is the pick when the keepsake should feel warm and earth-friendly rather than metallic — and when the event's identity is built around the outdoors, sustainability, or heritage.

Two decoration paths and a shape choice cover most wooden-medal briefs.

Laser engraving burns a clean mark into the wood face — logos, citation, position. The classic natural-wood look, monochrome.

Full-colour UV print lays event branding, sponsor lock-ups, and artwork onto the face when colour matters more than the bare-timber finish.

Custom shapes are routine — a round disc, a leaf, a state silhouette, an event mark — CNC-cut through our long-time partner workshops.

Both decoration methods are free as part of the per-piece price. Send a vector file (SVG, AI, EPS, PDF) and our designers will tidy it at no charge.

Minimum order: wood is our only medal format with a minimum — 10 pieces — plus roughly a week of extra lead time over metal or acrylic. This is a genuine partner-workshop constraint, not a sales tactic: wood batches through a workshop process that doesn't suit one-off runs. Below 10 pieces, an acrylic or metal medal is usually the better-value pick, and we'll point you there on WhatsApp.

Ribbon is included — standard satin colours stocked. Custom-printed ribbon with your event name is available on bulk runs (typically 100+), and earthy ribbon tones often suit the wooden-medal look better than bright primaries.

For a full-field eco run, brief the quantity early so we can batch the wood with enough runway before event day.

Standard turnaround: 7-10 working days from artwork sign-off, often the longer end because wood batches through a partner workshop. Custom shapes add a couple of days for cutting.

• Eco runs and trail races — brief 4-6 weeks ahead, especially for custom shapes or printed ribbon.
• Heritage and festival awards — brief 3-4 weeks ahead to buffer the wood batching and proofing.
