When a bespoke trophy is worth it (and when stock will do)
Custom isn't always the right call. Be honest about the moment.
Stock-with-engraving is enough for most monthly and quarterly recognition — employee of the month, sales contests, conference awards. Pay for a stock crystal or acrylic piece and a free engraved logo, done.
Custom earns its keep when the trophy itself has to be a story:
- Annual-dinner top awards (Salesperson of the Year, Branch of the Year)
- Dealer-of-the-year and partner-of-the-year programmes
- Founder retirement and generational-handover pieces
- IPO and listing commemoratives
- CEO and chairman lifetime achievement
- Board ceremonial gavels and ribbon-cutting pieces
The tell: if a stock trophy with a printed logo won't carry the moment, go custom. For annual programmes that repeat year-on-year, custom mould pays back — the tooling is a one-time cost and each later batch gets cheaper.
