Speech day — academic, attendance, leadership recognition
Speech day (Hari Anugerah Cemerlang) is the formal academic recognition ceremony. Usually held in the last fortnight of the academic year (October-November for sekolah kebangsaan).
Standard categories:
- Top student per subject and level
- Top student overall per form or standard
- Best attendance
- Leadership awards (head boy, head girl, prefect of the year, ketua tingkatan)
- Special-category awards (model student, best improvement, sportsmanship, anugerah khas guru besar)

The format needs to look right on a stage with parents in the audience. Photograph well for the school newsletter and PIBG WhatsApp group. Live on a parent's living-room shelf for the next decade.
Plastic trophies sit at the participation tier, not the speech-day tier. Recipients can tell the difference at age 12.
Matching pen sets (RM 35-60) work for the wider top-ten honourable-mentions tier. Recognise 30 students at parents-day cost rather than 10 at premium-plaque cost.
Sports day — house medals, victor ludorum cups, ribbon colours
Sports day (Hari Sukan) is the highest-volume school awards event of the year. A mid-sized SK with 600 pupils running three events per standard (Tahun 1 to Tahun 6) across gold, silver, and bronze plus an overall house cup will push the medal count past 250 for a single morning.
Medal options:
- Die-cast metal medals (RM 18-30 each at 100+ units) — traditional pick, feel substantial when the Pengetua hangs them at the finish line
- Acrylic medals (RM 10-18 each) — lighter, reproduce school crests and PIBG logos in full colour. Suits primary-school events and PIBG-funded days that want to acknowledge the parent committee on the medal face.
Champion trophies for the overall house and individual victor ludorum / victrix ludorum (Olahragawan/Olahragawati Sekolah):

Houses and ribbons: the four standard houses — Merah, Biru, Hijau, Kuning — get matching ribbon colours on their medals. All stocked at Brem Park. Custom-print the school crest on the ribbon at no extra cost for orders of 100 medals and above.
Always order a 10 percent buffer (so 220 medals for a 200-pupil event). Late entries, on-day reshuffles, and the inevitable damaged ribbon are not a question of if but when.

Schools across Klang Valley and nationwide follow recognisable patterns.
PIBG-funded events lean towards branded designs that acknowledge the parent committee's role. Usually a small 'Hadiah Daripada PIBG SK [Nama]' line on the engraved plate.
MSSD (Majlis Sukan Sekolah Daerah) and MSSM (Majlis Sukan Sekolah Malaysia) athletics events follow standard medal conventions:
- Gold, silver, bronze for individual events with district or state crest
- Larger metal cups (RM 400-800) for team championships
- Ribbons in district colours (Selangor purple/yellow, KL black/red, Penang yellow/blue)

For sports day medal orders, time despatch to arrive at least 3-5 days before the event so the PIBG or organising teacher can sort medals into category bags before the day. Or ask us to pre-sort by category — free on orders 500+ medals.
Tracking numbers go out on WhatsApp at despatch. We can also split a single order across multiple delivery addresses if the PIBG chair wants to receive some pieces at home for personal sorting before they go to the school office.
Collection at our Brem Park studio in Kuchai Lama is by appointment for southern KL and Klang Valley schools. Useful when speech day timing leaves zero room for courier transit.
