Bulk Medal Pricing Breakpoints (the table the bursar should keep on her phone)
Acrylic medal pricing genuinely steps at four breakpoints. Order 95 when you could order 100 and you’ve left money on the PIBG table:

These figures are for acrylic medals (catalogue floor around RM 9). Die-cast metal medals are quoted by size and finish. Trophy pricing scales less aggressively, the first piece carries most of the per-trophy cost, so going from 4 trophies to 12 doesn’t move the per-trophy price meaningfully.
Plan around the breakpoints. 95 medals is wasteful. Bump to 100 and the better per-piece rate covers more than the cost of the extra five. Same logic at 245 to 250 and 490 to 500. Always ask where the next bracket sits before locking the cheque.
Ribbon and Engraving, Free, Not “Add-On”
Two recurring questions worth flagging:
Are ribbons included with medals? Yes. Every medal we quote includes a coloured ribbon with attachment hook. Ribbon colour is your choice, see medal ribbon colours meaning Malaysia for colour conventions. Standard colours stocked: red, blue, green, yellow, white, black, navy. Custom-colour ribbons cost a little more, quoted with the order.
Is engraving free? Yes, across all materials and all volumes. Engraving on the medal back, on the trophy front plate, on the wood base, on the brass detail strip. One name or one thousand. We include the engraving in every quote.

Always build a 7-day event buffer. Trophies and medals arrive at your venue 7 days before the event. The reasons we have learned the hard way:
- Inspection on receipt, catch any engraving errors while there’s still time to re-engrave
- Pre-sorting medals into event bundles (for an MSSM-scale tournament this alone is two evenings of volunteer work)
- VIP confirmation of trophy text, YBhg, Tan Sri, and Datuk Seri always notice the typo on the day
- Couriers occasionally lose packages; a 7-day buffer lets us re-courier replacements
- House captains tend to discover late entries 72 hours before the event
